Exploring Form and Function Through Fashion at Haworth's 5V Contest
At the intersection of architecture, fashion, and conceptual design, the annual 5V Contest by Haworth offers a platform for boundary-pushing creatives. Hosted in San Francisco, the event invites architects and designers to craft wearable art inspired by the brand’s signature collections.
In a recent showing, one standout entry took cues from the sculptural elegance of Haworth’s Tau Tatu lamp and the organic geometry of the Honeycomb Villa in the Bahamas. Interpreting the 2025 theme—Vision, Vast, Velocity, Vanguard, and Vogue—

The success of this project was understanding the contest expectations but also and more importantly, capturing the interaction between architecture, design, and fashion. The materials and use of technology allowed for expressive interpretations within the ensemble in vast ways.
The design blended structure with movement, paying homage to both modernist ideals and nature’s rhythmic patterns. The result: a bold, innovative piece that captured the essence of forward-thinking design in a compelling, wearable form.
Many hours were dedicated to this project. I, alongside my wonderful team worked and researched how to achieve such a bold statement piece!
