Because He Loves Us: A Walk with Grandma
Children’s Book | Self-Published | Written & Illustrated by the Author | 2025
Because He Loves Us: A Walk with Grandma is a mission-driven, faith-based children’s book inspired by intergenerational storytelling and lived experience. The book emerged from decades of conversations during walks and playtime with children and grandchildren, where questions about life and faith were often answered with the simple refrain, “Because God loves us.” Completed and published in 2025, the book reflects more than 35 years of reflection, memory-keeping, and spiritual intention.
In addition to her work as an author and illustrator, Jennifer participates in community literacy and service initiatives. She volunteers with the YMCA Cornerstone Project as an ABC Reader, reading to children monthly in support of early literacy. She is writing a second children's book and autobiography.

Honors & Recognition
I am honored to have received recognition in Letters from the National League of American Pen Women – Santa Clara County Branch for my children’s book, Because He Loves Us: A Walk with Grandma. The National League of American Pen Women (NLAPW) is one of the oldest professional organizations supporting women in the arts, letters, music, and creative professions. Founded in 1897, the organization promotes artistic excellence, education, mentorship, and the advancement of women creatives across the country.
Following this recognition, I became a member of the Santa Clara County Branch, joining a community of accomplished women artists, authors, musicians, and creatives dedicated to encouraging artistic expression and cultural contribution. Being recognized for my work as both an author and creative professional has been an incredibly meaningful milestone, and I am grateful to share stories that inspire faith, love, family connection, and encouragement for children and families alike.
